Senior financial analysts must be excellent communicators who also have strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Candidates need to have superior technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and database applications. ERP systems experience also is valued. Companies expect a Bachelorate's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics but prefer candidates who also have a Master of Business Administration (MBA). A professional certification such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is a plus. A minimum of five to 10 years of experience in the banking industry is required, as are excellent technology skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
